How to get into the Biz Seminar – Sign up for lessons and attend for free!
SEMINAR: Each parent will be provided valuable insight into industry practices in starting their child in acting. You will get personal guidance regarding starting your child in showbiz and if it’s the right thing for your child and your family. Parents will also get a chance to ask questions about the industry, what to expect at LA auditions, how to get an agent, do you need a manager or publicist, how to prepare for auditions, the difference between commercial and theater acting, how to get head shots and entertainment permits, how to set up a Coogan Account and what to do when you get a call back, and more. Seminar held every first Saturday of the month at 4:00 p.m. at the Woodside Studio in Santee. Relaxed atmosphere. Refreshments provided. Seating limited, you must call to secure a spot.
Cost: $45.00 If you sign up for one of our acting classes, the seminar is Free.
Each new student is required to pay a one-time $25.00 registration fee.
Introduction to Theater Acting
Ages 7-13 This is a great class for the want-to-be actor! Students will work on a series of scenes or skits for the stage that focus on movement and character development. There’s also some great games and activities thrown into the mix. Kids learn how to think on their feet, focus and articulate. How to do ensemble work and create on the spot. How to make their character stand out, picking an audition song and dance moves. How to develop essential performance skills, that will carry you from one audition to the next.
Starts September 10 (6 weeks)
Friday 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Fee $100.00
After September 10 next Class Starts October 29
Ages 7-13 This class is for the young actor who has had some stage experience or have taken the beginning class and are familiar with the language of theater. Topics covered will include character development, stage movement, conflict resolution and tips on memorization, as well as improvisation, story-telling and theater games. Students begin to develop a self-confidence that will stay with them where ever they go. This class is lots of fun and is a great way to improve your skills.

Friday 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Fee$100.00
After September 10, Next class starts October 29
Ages 8-18 If you’ve never auditioned before or have and want to improve we can help. Each level is meant to be both informative and encouraging. Workshops are ongoing, and some workshop combine beginning and intermediate students. Please email to find out when next workshop is starting.
Beginner
What to expect, how to get started, what to bring, what to wear, how to prepare, how to audition for casting directors, how to prepare your resume, how to get the best head shots and more. You will learn all the ends and outs on how to audition, so that you will look like a seasoned pro the very first time you go do an audition. You will know what to expect and be able to shine above the rest.
Friday 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. September 10 – After that next class starts October 29
Classes are 4 weeks
Fee $100.00
Intermediate
Presenting strengths, how to memorize your lines, but still sound natural, cold and warm reading, auditioning resources, and introductory critiques. Students will practice cold-reading improvisation and scene study techniques such as how to prevent vocal monotone, working on sides, and keeping eye contact.
Prerequisite: Beginner workshop or appropriate experience.
Friday 7:30 – 8:30 September 10 – After that next class starts October 29
This class is ongoing and you can join and stop at any time.
Fee: $30.00 per one hour session
