We are wrapping up our Rock Camps for the summer, but we will be offering our Rock Guitar classes at Hill Creek Elementary in the fall, again.

We have put on our final touches for our new musical theater and acting classes starting in September.  We have built a mini stage with lights and microphone for the Pop Star singing classes and are fine-tuning the curriculum for our classes.  They will be lots of fun for all ages and can’t wait to get started.  We are accepting registrations now.  You will need to register as soon as possible as some workshops/classes are limited.  (619) 448-0977.

Music Time is East County’s full-service music, singing and acting lesson provider. We offer custom private lessons, group lessons and school music programs in Santee, California.

We teach classical to rock, and theater.  If you 8-year old wants to learn piano, we can do that.  If your 15-year old son wants to play electric guitar and concentrate on Metallica, we can teach that.  If your 16-year old daughter wants to sing country western and prepare for an American Idol audition, we can help.  If you 4-year old wants to dress up and be in a play, we offer that.  AND, if your child needs classical training or coaching for an upcoming play or event, we can help.

Our Studio

The Music Time studio is located right above Giggles and Smiles Child Care.

We have two large lesson rooms and each room is hooked up to a closed-circuit camera, so you can watch your child while they are taking a lesson on one TV and watch another show on the other TV if you like, but usually parents enjoy watching their child’s lesson so much, they forget all about the TV :-)

We also have WiFi, so you can bring your computer and surf the internet.  We have two lesson rooms available, so if one child wants to learn drums and another, guitar, they can have their lessons both at the same time AND you only have to wait 30 minutes for them.

Music Time has no contracts.  You can begin and stop  your lessons at any time.

Our Teachers

Our teachers are hand-picked because of their specialties.   We are not an online music teacher provider with hundreds of unknown music teachers that we do not personally know.  We know our teachers, we are friends with our teachers and combined with our years of experience as teachers, we know what parents are looking for and what children need in a teacher. Each teacher has a background check and is certified and tested prior to joining Music Time.

All our teachers not only are college trained but are performance professionals, so they can teach their students how to be performance professionals, too.  They all have advance degrees in music, plus performance experience that sets them above the rest. Many have played with professional rock groups and have music engineering experience.  Music is not a part time aspiration for them, but a full time dedication.


Performance

We encourage all our students to perform together and provide them with the place to practice at our studio on Sundays.  At any time, when the student feels s/he are ready, they can ask to participate and join the jamming sessions.   The jamming sessions are held most every Sunday, and are groups of kids that want to learn how to sing or play their instruments together in a group. Students bring their parents and friends and have fun playing together in front of their families and friends.

Also, Music Time is asked from time to time to participate in locate events in Santee, from Grand Openings to City events.  Students are encouraged to participate as a single performer or group performance.  Students get the chance to experience how it feels to perform live on stage.  As a Music Time student don’t be surprised if you are asked if you would like to perform live on stage at the next public events in East County.

Music Time is a Music School

All we do is teach.  We do not sell or rent instruments or sheet music or music books.  This leaves us free to specialize in one thing, providing the highest quality of music lessons. A professional school environment can produce better results because the student is not distracted as they would be in their own home.  Plus, just like going to a karate class or a dance class, students are around others that are going after the same goals.  This can help keep a child motivated by hearing other students who are at different levels and by being exposed to a variety of musical instruments.

Being part of a music school allows you to try other instruments.  You can even switch instruments at any time.  And, at a music school, the teachers are more dedicated, as this is their life and not a hobby or side job.  Their goal is to create musically diverse kids, who will be able to enjoy  playing music their whole life.

All Ages – Beginners to Advanced

Different instruments require a student to start at different ages, but most can start at 5 years old.  We have group classes for the 5 and under kids and many move right into private lessons.

Whether you are a beginner or intermediate, Music Time teachers can show you styles from Classical to Blues to Jazz to Rock to Metal to Theater.   You can become a rhythm guitarist or a lead guitarist with skill and proficiency that will lead to admiration and praise.  You gain confidence as you learn to share your talents with everyone, and you learn to appreciate the skills you have obtained from practicing.

Our lessons are customizable to the needs of the student and the specific genre of music they desire to place the most emphasis on.  Learn from us and you will truly be able to rock!

Our normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 3pm to 8pm, and Saturday and Sunday.  Don’t hesitate to call us outside our regular business hours as we check messages routinely.
